Find the Grizzled Skipper Pyrgus malvae!!!

G.B. Routledge published an account of the Butterflies of Cumberland in the Transactions of Carlisle Natural History Society in 1909. Here he mentioned what he considered doubtful reports of Grizzled Skippers at Witherslack in Westmorland and Silverdale in North Lancashire. There were odd reports of this species at Arnside in the early 20th century but no recent reports until a small number were seen in 1997 and 1998 at Whitbarrow NNR in south Cumbria and Gaitbarrows NNR just over the border in north Lancashire. These are considered to have been illicit introductions and in the absence of further sightings are believed to have died out.
