The Community Shop in Witherslack is now open. Full details and opening hours are on view at Dyer Dene.

The Derby Arms has re-opened. The meals are delicious. The dining chairs are deliberately arranged so that each table has a random selection. Very distracting for someone like Susan who spent the whole evening trying to visually sort them out into matching sets. Apparently it is the 'done thing' these days.

The Chinese restaurant/take-away on the A590 is shut at the moment.

Thanks to our grandson, we now have some really nice toys that he has grown out of. At the moment we have play things for children up to four years of age.

The birds in our garden include woodpeckers, nuthatches and a variety of finches. If you are coming here for a holiday, remember to bring lots of food for them. You can watch them from the comfort of the conservatory.
